How to pre-order GTA 6on Xbox Series X|S

Steps to pre-order GTA 6 on Xbox, Microsoft's billing and cancel rules, the 180-day GTA+ redemption window and what the Xbox listing does not say.

The short answer

Pre-order GTA 6 on Xbox from the Microsoft Store on your console, the Xbox app or the web. The listing shows the game as optimized for Xbox Series X|S, with Standard from $79.99 and Ultimate from $99.99. Confirmed Microsoft bills digital pre-orders by its own rules, which are different from PlayStation's. The overview is in the main guide.

Pre-order GTA 6 on Xbox Series X|S

  1. Sign in to the Microsoft account you use on your console.
  2. Open the Microsoft Store and find Grand Theft Auto VI. The listing is labeled Xbox Series X|S.
  3. Choose Standard or Ultimate. Standard owners can upgrade later.
  4. Pick your payment method. Account balance is charged right away; other methods can be charged later (see below).
  5. Buy before the deadline on the listing: it says before November 19, 2026 at 23:59:59. Confirmed
  6. Redeem the GTA+ month within 180 days of the pre-order. Confirmed
  7. Keep your console set to update and download in the background so pre-load can run from November 12.

When Microsoft charges you

Cancel and refund

Microsoft says you cancel a pre-order from your order history: sign in to your Microsoft account, find the order and select cancel. Unconfirmed The cancel page adds that the cancel button disappears once you have been billed. After that, it becomes a refund request through Microsoft's returns process. Unconfirmed

The Xbox listing itself does not describe a cancellation or refund policy. Confirmed Microsoft's support pages do not give a GTA 6 specific rule, so these are the general store rules.

Pre-load on Xbox

Take-Two says pre-load for digital pre-orders opens November 12, 2026. Confirmed The Xbox listing does not mention pre-load. Our understanding is that the game will show in your library and can be installed from there once pre-load opens, but Microsoft has not published GTA 6 steps. Estimate

Region, payment and codes

  • Rockstar's support page says Xbox codes are not region-locked, unlike PlayStation codes. Unconfirmed
  • The Xbox listing shows $79.99 and $99.99 in the US. Prices in other markets are on your local listing. Confirmed
