Cheapest way to pre-order GTA6 (checked Oct 7)

The short answer

The cheapest legitimate way to pre-order GTA 6 is to pay the official price at a seller you trust, then add a retailer perk if one applies to you. The Standard Edition is $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition is $99.99 in the US Confirmed. In the UK, some retailers list the Standard Edition below the official 69.99 pounds Unconfirmed.

Official prices (seen October 7, 2026)

Edition	PlayStation Store (US)	Xbox listing (US)
Standard	$79.99	$79.99
Ultimate	$99.99	$99.99
Ultimate upgrade add-on	Listed, marked unavailable	$20.00

All three are Confirmed on the pages we opened today. For the full price table, including UK and euro prices, see how much GTA 6 costs.

The $20 upgrade math

Standard at $79.99 plus the $20.00 Ultimate upgrade comes to $99.99, the same as buying Ultimate outright Estimate. That is our arithmetic, so there is no saving either way. The upgrade does give you a way to start on Standard and decide later. It is also the only route if you buy a code-in-box Standard copy, because Rockstar lists Ultimate as digital only Confirmed.

One catch. The PlayStation page marked the upgrade add-on as unavailable when we read it today, while Xbox lists it at $20.00. If you plan to upgrade on PlayStation, check that the add-on is purchasable before you rely on it. Confirmed

Retailer deals we could confirm

Honest status: very little. The big US retailer pages (Walmart, GameStop, Target, Best Buy) either blocked our reader or did not state a GTA 6 promotion, so we could not confirm any US retailer deal on the retailer's own page today. What we found came from other outlets:

Where	Offer	Status
Best Buy (US)	My Best Buy members who buy an eligible console and a GTA 6 pre-order in one order get a $50 gift card, credited by November 25, per games.gg	Unconfirmed
Amazon, EE, Smyths (UK)	Standard Edition listed at 68 pounds, per Which?	Unconfirmed
Argos, Currys, GAME, John Lewis, Very (UK)	Standard Edition at the full 70 pounds, per Which?	Unconfirmed

The Best Buy offer only helps if you were buying a console anyway. It is not a game discount. A claim that Target gives students 20% off Standard circulated in fan coverage, but Target's terms page we opened did not mention it, so we are not recommending it.

How to pay the least

The pre-order bonus cutoff is November 20 on PlayStation and November 19, 23:59:59 on the Xbox listing Confirmed. See the pre-order bonus guide.
