Grand Theft Auto VI has two playable leads, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, and Rockstar's website profiles six supporting characters. Confirmed This page covers only what Rockstar says about them on its own pages. It has no story spoilers and nothing from leaks.
The two leads
Rockstar presents Jason and Lucia as the centre of the story, who "rely on each other more than ever" after an easy score goes wrong. Confirmed See the full profiles at Jason and Lucia.
- Jason Duval grew up around grifters and crooks. After a stint in the Army, he ended up in the Keys working for local drug runners, and Rockstar says he wants an easy life. Confirmed
- Lucia Caminos was taught to fight by her father. Fighting for her family landed her in the Leonida Penitentiary, and she now wants the good life her mother dreamed of since their days in Liberty City. Confirmed
Both are described as playable. Confirmed Press coverage of the Extended Look says the footage shows play switching between the two, per TheWrap. How that works in the finished game is not something Rockstar has spelled out on its pages. Unconfirmed
The supporting characters Rockstar names
| Character | Rockstar's description, paraphrased |
|---|---|
| Cal Hampton | Jason's friend and an associate of Brian's, a conspiracy-minded homebody who listens in on Coast Guard radio |
| Boobie Ike | A Vice City local legend who turned street money into real estate, a strip club and a recording studio |
| Dre'Quan Priest | A hustler and aspiring music mogul tied to Only Raw Records |
| Real Dimez (Bae-Luxe and Roxy) | Friends since high school who became a rap duo with a big social media presence |
| Raul Bautista | A seasoned bank robber looking for talented crew |
| Brian Heder | A classic Keys drug runner who works from a boatyard with his wife Lori and lets Jason stay at one of his properties |
All of these entries come from Rockstar's own page. Confirmed For the label they are tied to, see Only Raw Records.
The tone Rockstar describes
In its August 2026 interviews, carried by Dazed, Rockstar staff describe the leads as a couple whose story is shared, and the writers say they wanted characters with their own agency. Confirmed The same package describes research with people in Miami and a large non-player population. We do not quote the more detailed claims here.
Voice cast
We have not listed actors here, because we only credit people when Rockstar or an official cast list names them. See our cast and voice actors guide for what has been officially credited, and treat anything else as Unconfirmed.
What is not confirmed
- How the story ends, and who is a villain. Rockstar has not said.
- Whether any characters from older GTA games appear. Nothing official lists any.
- Further supporting characters. Rockstar's list has six names today, and more may be added. Confirmed
What the cast means for you
There is nothing to prepare, but the profiles help you recognise names in trailers. The trailers timeline shows when characters were introduced, and the setting guide shows where they live.
