Take-Two Interactive and Microsoft entered a new long-term XBOX Publisher License Agreement on September 28, 2026, with an effective date of September 17, 2026, according to a Take-Two filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission dated September 30. Confirmed
A platform contract, not a GTA 6 announcement.
The filing says the agreement lets Take-Two develop, publish, market and sell games for all Xbox devices, and replaces its existing Xbox publisher license agreements. Confirmed Microsoft pays Take-Two the wholesale price or an agreed revenue share for digital sales, charges fees and royalties on physical discs Take-Two has made, and may approve each game concept and final version. Confirmed Either side can end it for material breach or insolvency. Confirmed
The filing does not name Grand Theft Auto VI. Beebom reports the deal as routine and the "all Xbox devices" wording as likely covering future hardware, which is the outlet's reading. Unconfirmed Take-Two's August 7, 2026 results still list the game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026, and nothing in the new filing changes that. Confirmed
Not announced: a PC version, exclusive terms for any platform, or any change to the GTA 6 release date.
For Xbox players, this is background. Pre-orders and the November 12 pre-load plan are unchanged, so read our platforms guide for what is confirmed.
