Around the August 27, 2026 premiere of "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look", Rockstar Games posted guidance on X for video creators, as reported by GTA BOOM. Creators could share reaction content, clips, breakdowns and analysis across social and video platforms once the video debuted on Netflix, and could livestream a watch party from the 3 p.m. ET start with their own commentary. Confirmed
Add your own voice to it.
The limit, per the same reports, is that streaming or reposting the full video unedited is not allowed, and each platform's own rules still apply. GTA BOOM also reports, in an August 6 article, that a Netflix representative told a journalist that creators were free to cover the special however they liked. Confirmed We could not open Rockstar's posts directly, so we are relying on GTA BOOM's account of them.
Rockstar also publishes a standing policy on posting its copyrighted material on its support site. We could not load it for this check, so read it before monetising anything.
Not covered: monetised channels, ads, or merchandise built on game footage.
For fans, the safe pattern is to add your own commentary, check the platform's rules and never post leaked material.
